Bruna’s Story
From the outside looking in, it seemed as though Bruna was perfectly happy. In August of 2023, she had just graduated from Catherine Hinds Institute of Esthetics, she was weeks away from marrying her high school sweetheart and was just about finished planning their dream wedding. She was loved by all of her family and friends.
What Bruna didn't share with anyone was that she was struggling with a resurgence of her depression and suicidal thoughts. Bruna was always there for others. She was someone you could vent with. She was someone who you could count on. She was always willing to drop everything to help someone else out. Bruna kept hiding the fact that she needed help.
Bruna lost her battle to depression on August 9th, 2023.
After Bruna's tragic passing, her fiancé, John Harris, came up with the idea for the Bruna Rocha Memorial Foundation. The idea behind our foundation is to help end the stigma surrounding mental health and to encourage those in need of help to seek it, while also helping with the financial burden that can come with that.

Supporting Suicide Prevention
At the Bruna Rocha Memorial Foundation, our mission is to support suicide prevention through awareness, education, and financial assistance. We believe that open conversations about mental health can save lives. By partnering with mental health professionals and providing resources, we aim to offer a safe space for those struggling with depression and suicidal thoughts. Additionally, our foundation helps alleviate the financial burden that often comes with seeking mental health support, ensuring that more individuals have access to the care they need. Together, we strive to honor Bruna’s memory by fostering a community that values mental health and encourages those in need to seek help without fear or shame.
